Why is First Aid important?
First Aid knowledge is invaluable for both you as the individual and for your community. It enables you to assist persons who become injured in the event of an accident or emergency situation until help arrives. First Aid skills can be applied in the home, the workplace or in public locations, therefore the more First Aid certified people there are in a community the safer that community becomes. Becoming First Aid certified not only benefits you as an individual but it extends to your family, friends, co-workers and even the community as a whole. As unpleasant as it is to talk about, accidents and emergency situations are not completely preventable or unavoidable.
First Aid Level 1
First Aid Level 1 training course complies with the requirements for the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Corporate employees will find the Level 1 First Aid training course ideal for assisting them with the management of every day first aid emergencies in their workplace. Great emphasis is put on practicing the skills of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to enable employees to respond successfully to emergencies. The basic principles of First Aid, bandaging, and splinting skills are also practiced. The First Aid Level 1 training course meets the Department of Labour standards and guidelines as stipulated in the OSH act.
First Aid Level 2
The First Aid Level 2 training course is an intermediate course. As Level 2 First Aid is not a requirement of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, it is ideal for any person who is enthusiastic to know more about cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and other lifesaving skills and techniques to be used in an emergency. Any person participating in this first aid training course will be able to render safe and effective first aid in a medical, injury or environmental emergency. This first aid training course provides a lot of hands-on practice in the skills of CPR, safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), splinting, bandaging and managing bleeding.
First Aid Level 3
First Aid Level 3 is a comprehensive first aid training course. All first aid topics are covered in the Level 3 First Aid training course. Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the correct use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) are essential skills emphasized to save a person’s life in a medical emergency. This is the ideal first aid training course for persons in hazardous working environments or living in areas where medical care is not readily accessible.
